ABOUT OUR COMPETITION

The Blue Ridge Festival of Bands is a premier regional Marching Band competition hosted each year by the William Byrd High School Band. The event is organized and run as a fundraiser by the WBHS Band Boosters, band staff, and students. Bands are judged on their musical performance, their marching form and precision, general effect (showmanship, guard work, difficulty level, communication with the audience, visuals, and transitions) and given a rating of superior, excellent, or good in the adjudication.

On October 27, 2025, the William Byrd High School Marching Terriers will proudly host the 28th annual Blue Ridge Festival of Bands. We invite local businesses and band families to invest in our talented student musicians and help us continue this tradition of excellence!

For Our Business Community: Showcase your support for the arts and gain visibility with a diverse audience. We offer a variety of sponsorship packages, from a Bronze Partnership at $150 to our exclusive Director’s Partner level at $2,500. Benefits include advertisements in the event program, public announcements during the competition, and social media recognition, depending on the level chosen.

For Our Band Families: This is a wonderful opportunity to send a personal message of encouragement to your student. Family sponsorships may be purchased for $25 and include the option to include photos and favorite quotes in the program, creating a lasting memory of their hard work.

All proceeds will benefit the William Byrd High School Band program. Payments are made to “WBHS Band”.
